HANNIBAL, NY – After spending a decade leading the Hannibal Central School District with determination and innovation, former superintendent Joseph Caruana was recently celebrated for his accomplishments with an official Board of Education proclamation.
The proclamation highlighted Caruana’s deep commitment and significant impact during his tenure as Superintendent from September 17, 1994, to June 30, 2004.
“During his decade-long leadership, Mr. Caruana was instrumental in guiding the district through numerous challenges and milestones, leaving an indelible mark on the school community,” the proclamation said. “He is a true treasure of the Hannibal Warrior Community, whose influence is still felt today.”
The proclamation, officially issued June 14, 2023, serves as a testament to Caruana’s legacy of commitment, leadership, and service. The district expressed its heartfelt gratitude for his contributions, ensuring that his efforts will be permanently remembered. A plaque was donated and placed in his honor at the Varsity baseball field at Hannibal High School.
