Varsity Athletes Recognized at APW Varsity Athletic Banquet

Eleven out of the fourteen APW Varsity teams were scholar athlete teams this spring.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association recognizes teams that excel in the classroom at the end of each season.

Scholar athlete team GPAs were: Girls Soccer 95.09%, Boys Cross Country 92.64%, Girls Cross Country 91.78%, Girls Indoor Track 92.84%, Boys Basketball 91.79%, Girls Basketball 93.78%, Girls Volleyball 92.68%, Boys Golf 94.40%, Boys Outdoor Track 90.45%, Girls Outdoor Track 94.86% and Hockey 91.32%.

Rebel Awards were given to Amber Rice and Deshae Jones (Most Competitive), Katie Palmer (Team Player), Kenny Benedetto (Dedication), Anna DeHart (Warrior), Austin Appleby (Most Improved), Ellen Parker and Brianna Karboski (Work Horse), Devin Jones (Sportsman) and Katie Palmer and Sam LaCelle (Ultimate Rebel Award).

The C. Rex Crosby Award, which recognizes sports participation, athletic and academic honors, extracurricular activities and volunteer community service, was presented to Kenney Benedetto.

The Floyd G. Bristol Award identifies a senior athlete with the most recognized athletic ability. This award was presented to both Sam LaCelle and Kylee Bartlett.

The Rebel Most Outstanding Athlete of the Year Award was presented to brother and sister Kylee and Sage Bartlett.
