OSWEGO, NY – Well-known Oswego Players’ director, Inez Manor Parker, is readying her cast for the season’s opener of Agatha Christie’s “Witness for the Prosecution.”
The Dame’s courtroom drama ranks as one of her best and is always welcomed enthusiastically by those who enjoy mystery and suspense. As one reviewer colorfully noted, “The jury’s verdict is only the beginning of a story that has as many twists as a pig’s tail;” and the surprise ending always does just that – surprise!
This latest incarnation features three of the Players’ most seasoned performers: Nelson Metz, Sherri Baker and Knate Roy.
Metz and Baker have honed their skills in a vast number of appearances over the years.
They are equally adept and at ease with comedy, drama or farce.
Roy may be a relative newbie to the Players’ organization, but his experience and expertise as a performer speaks for itself. He is a most welcome addition to the group’s talent pool.
Marsha Preston, Zane Leo, Jacob Behr, Steve Standish, Bobby Fontana, Julia Preston Fulton, Chris Bixler, Jenny Snow, Ed Lewis, Kelly Mahan, and Norman Berlin, III, all offer their unique abilities to round out the cast list.
Performances will take place in the Frances Marion Brown Theatre, Fort Ontario Arts Center in Oswego.
Dates of performances: 8 p.m. February 24 and 25 and March 2 and 3. A matinee performance will be 2 p.m. March 4.
Ticket prices are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students, and are available by calling the Players’ Box Office at 315-343-5138.
