FULTON, NY – Madalyn and Evelyn’s Easter Spirit was created in 2011 in hopes to fill a want of two little girls to show their community how much they care.
With 18 baskets and the donations from family and friends the girls were able to give baskets to two local agencies that distributed them to families in need.
By the second year, their numbers quadrupled. They were able to fill over 80 baskets giving to three local agencies and multiple families in need.
For their third year, they were hoping to quadruple their goal again.
They have done it! With the hard work and the gracious donations from family and friends they were able to make 375 Easter baskets that were distributed to: ARC of Oswego County, Arise, Children’s Advocacy Center, Oswego County Opportunities and seven elementary schools in the Oswego County.
The girls would like to thank all of the people who donated items, helped make baskets, Ellen Russell at Off Broadway Dance Center for being a donation drop off location, Devine Designs by Gail for donating over 25 baskets and stuffed animals, Marie Smith and Theresa Familo, staff at Parents of Special Children for being a pick-up place for the baskets and the biggest thanks of all going to their grandma Donna Stoutenger, who worked relentless hours collecting donations, delivering baskets, spending more than six hours on the first 244 baskets made but she single-handedly managed to put together the remaining 130 in just two days.
Thank you all and Happy Easter!
