The Econo Lodge of Oswego, NY and the Merton R. Kemp Jr Detachment 651 of the Marine Corps League are joining up with the United States Marine Corps Reserve to help the 2009 Toys For Tots Campaign.

A fundraiser and toy collection will take place on Sunday, November, 22, 2009 from 12 noon till 8 pm. Throughout the day, there will be 50/50 raffles, pledges and a 7 ton Marine transport to fill up with toys. The GS Steamers portion of the hotel will be hosting drink specials during the event. SSgt Nicholas Hampton and members of Company E, 4th LAR Battalion of the USMC will be on hand to greet the Oswego community.

All community members are encouraged to support the toy drive. All of the toys donated will be dispersed to children in our community. One toy will make a difference in a child’s Christmas.

The goal is to create 1000 smiles this holiday. Anyone may donate by placing a new unwrapped toy in the donation box. The donation box will remain active at this location until 12/18/09. For more information or for after hours donations, contact John Zalenski, Matrix LLC@343-0624 or 349-0969 or Chris Jones @342-0396 or visit www.toysfortots.org.
