This year’s exhibition, the 13th annual, will begin with a public reception on April 3 from 7-9 p.m. at the Oswego Civic Arts Center.

The reception is free and open to the public.

Refreshments and live music are being planned.

An awards ceremony will take place at 8 p.m.

The Lakeside exhibition provides an annual showcase for new and exciting artwork from across New York State.

It provides a display of diverse subjects and artistic styles for area residents to enjoy.

This exhibition is made possible in part by a generous grant from Constellation Energy.

This year, fine artists from across New York State submitted more than 100 entries to be considered for inclusion into the show.

The juror for this year’s Lakeside exhibit is Franzie Weldgen, a well-known artist and a professor of Art in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Monroe Community College.

Weldgen was charged with the duty of narrowing down more than 100 entries to the final 50 pieces that will be included in the show.

He will also select the award winners once the show is in place.

The Oswego Civic Arts Center is located at the northernmost end of East Fourth Street in Oswego, directly across from Fort Ontario.

The Lakeside exhibit will be on display until April 25.

Regular gallery hours are from 2-5 p.m. on weekends or by appointment.

Group tours are encouraged.
