APW Middle School Celebrates Music In Our Schools Month

<p>The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School joined a nationwide campaign to promote and celebrate music and music education with a Music In Our Schools Month concert. Held on Friday, March 16, the in-school musical celebration featured thirteen different acts comprised of students from grades five through eight. One of the highlights from the celebration was a rendition of House of the Rising Sun by The Animals performed by a guitar ensemble and accompanied by vocalists Tiffani Teller, left, and Emberlin Leja. Guitar ensemble members above include, left to right, Joe Karboski, Kaitlin Morey, Taylor Trudeau, Lacey Saucier, and Dylan Waite. <p>March is Music In Our Schools Month and the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School commemorated this national campaign to promote music education with an in-school musical celebration on Friday, March 16. One act for the celebration was the grade seven and eight flute ensemble consisting of students Jenna Brockett, left, CarlyAnn Sackett, second from left, Courtney Trudeau, second from right, and Kaitlin Morey, right, who were accompanied by APW Middle School Music Teacher MaryAnn House, also pictured.</p>

 

MIOSM-Concert-Kowalski-and-Comins
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School honored March as National Music In Our Schools Month with a concert celebrating the musical and choral talents of students in grades five through eight. The concert was held March 16 and featured students Nova Kowalski, left, and Josh Comins performing a rendition of For What It’s Worth (Stop, Hey What's That Sound) originally recorded by Buffalo Springfield. Other acts included the grade five and six band, the grade seven chorus, a guitar ensemble, and the hand bell choir.
