Oswego Health Wellness Expo To Be Showcased at Tri-Oswego 2012 Triathlon

Oswego, NY – Oswego Health has partnered with the Tri-Oswego 2012 Triathlon as the naming sponsor of the Health and Wellness Expo that will be held during the June 16th event, according to Tri-Oswego Race Director Shane Broadwell.

“We are so grateful to have the support of Oswego Health for the Tri-Oswego event and as the naming sponsor for our health and wellness initiative,” said Broadwell.  “We are looking forward to another amazing event and also building on last year’s health and wellness tent with a variety of new vendors/participants,” said Broadwell.

According to Lynne Morris, chairperson of the Oswego Health Wellness Expo, this year’s vendors, which are being finalized, will complement the Tri-Oswego event, and will be a mix of health and triathlon related businesses and organizations this year.

“We’re very excited about the diversity of the organizations participating,” said Morris. “We are fortunate to have the support of our sponsor Oswego Health for the second year, as well as others who will be assisting during the event.”

The USA Triathlon sanctioned event will include a Sprint Tri, Intermediate Tri, and Sprint Relay Tri event on Sunday, June 16th.

“Oswego Health is very pleased once again to be a part of this wonderful event as the Wellness Expo sponsor,” said Ann C. Gilpin, Oswego Health President and CEO. “We are looking forward to an exciting and safe event and invite the community to come out and support all of the athletes and weekend activities.”

Tri-Oswego Registration fees for the Sprint Distance are $100.00 from May 1, 2012 – June 8, 2012. Registration fees for the Intermediate Distance are $115.00 from May 1, 2012 – June 8, 2012. Registration fees for the Sprint Distance Relay are $240.00 from May 1, 2012 – June 8, 2012.

Proof of USA Triathlon membership is required at registration. If you are not an annual USA Triathlon member, you must purchase a one-day membership. The cost is $5.00 for 17 and under and $10.00 for 18 and older.

Public Meeting on Drafting Eastern Lake Ontario Unit Management Plan to be Held June 5

A public meeting will be held on June 5 to help draft the Eastern Lake Ontario Unit Management Plan, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced. The meeting sessions will be held at the DEC’s Salmon River Fish Hatchery, 2133 County Route 22, Altmar, from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
