OSWEGO – For well over a decade, the St. Luke-Boyce Memorial Charity Golf event has been raising money to benefit resident programs at St. Luke Health Services and Bishop’s Commons Enriched Living Residence in Oswego, and Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton.
This year, the 15th edition promises to be another fun-filled event, as the tournament “tees off” on August 11 at Battle Island Golf Course, with an 8 a.m. “shot gun” start.
The four-person “Captain & Crew” tournament attracts both the serious and novice golf teams alike–as prizes are awarded in both categories. An optional “skins” game is also a part of the competition.
The tournament entry fee is $75 per person. The field will be limited to the first 25 teams to register. The entry fee includes greens fees, cart, and on-course games, with lunch and awards immediately following at the Battle Island Club House Café.
Every golfer can take a swing for some big cash as the payout at the popular Hole-In-One Contest has been increased to $20,000 – thanks to game sponsors The House Works and Schopfer Architects. A putting contest courtesy of Harbor Pharmacy, and “Super Prize” raffles including golf are all part of the event.

The annual charity golf tournament benefits the St. Luke-Foster Burden Fund; providing financial resources in support of the St. Luke “Make a Wish” program, Bishop’s Commons “Wishing Well Fund” and Michaud Residential Health Services “Wish List” program. These programs add to the quality of life enjoyed by residents and helps maintain connections with our community through activities and events.
The charity golf tournament honors the late Francis Boyce, the first Administrator of St. Luke Health Services and past President of the Board of Directors. An avid golfer, Mr. Boyce helped shape the St. Luke organization during his thirty-five year tenure with the not-for-profit healthcare provider.
