HANNIBAL, NY – Hannibal High School student musicians recently took their talents on the road, performing in Washington, D.C.

The once-in-a-lifetime experience enabled choral and band students to not only perform, but also take a masterclass under the tutelage of esteemed professors from Howard University.

“It was a great learning experience, and the kids are still talking about the HU choir,” said Hannibal music teacher Dr. Denise Ellis.

In addition to the music portion of the trip, students also had an opportunity to explore history and culture in the nation’s capital. They received an illuminated tour of the monuments, explored the American History Museum and the Natural History Museum, and spent a time at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide such a wonderful opportunity for our students,” Ellis said. “They did an incredible job and represented Hannibal very well.”
