Halfway to Nowhere to Perform at Pumpkin Festival

Local favorites, Halfway to Nowhere will provide musical entertainment for the Central New York Great Pumpkin Festival with a live performance on Sunday, October 4th beginning at 2:00 p.m.  The Central New York Great Pumpkin Festival Fest will be held Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, October 4th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Washington Square Park in Oswego. The sounds of rock ‘n’ roll oldies and country music will fill the air during the CNY Great Pumpkin Festival as the band Halfway to Nowhere and Friends, featuring Oswego Idol, Tammy Stewart, will be performing at Sunday, October 4th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The 18th Annual Central New York Great Pumpkin Fest will be held on Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, October 4th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Washington Square Park in Oswego.

The Great Pumpkin Weigh-In will take place on Saturday, October 3rd beginning at 10:00 a.m. The giant pumpkins will be on display at the Great Pumpkin Fest Saturday only.

The two-day event will also feature a wide variety of entertainment and activities including:

– Air Hops, and Face Painting for the kids

– Wine & Cheese Tasting

– Arts & Crafts Vendors

– Carnival Rides & Games

– 50 / 50 Raffle

In addition there will be live performances each day. Entertainers scheduled to perform include:

– Patti and The Cruz-ers, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday

– Bill Barlow & Dave Domicolo, 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Saturday

– The Jam Bones, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Saturday

– Doc Apple, 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Sunday

– Halfway To Nowhere & Friends, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday

The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce invites you to celebrate the harvest season at the 18th Annual Central New York Great Pumpkin Fest.

Scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00 am to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 4th from 11:00 am to 5:00 p.m., the Great Pumpkin Fest will fill Washington Square Park with crafters, farm produce, food vendors, music and games for children of all ages.

Vendor Space Available for Pumpkin Fest

The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce is still accepting applications for vendors interested in being a part of the Great Central New York Pumpkin Festival to be held Saturday and Sunday, October 4th & 5th in Washington Square Park in Oswego.

Vendor space is available in a variety of options:

-          8′ x 10′ space in the tent  -  $120
-          8′ x 20′ double in the tent – $200
-          10′ x10′ space outside of the tent – $110
-          10′ x 20′ double outside of the tent – $200

The Chamber will supply one table per space for vendors in the big tent.  Outside vendors must provide their own table and chairs.  Chamber members are eligible for a $25 discount on space rental.

Clarinetist, Accompanists To Perform Range Of Classical Music

SUNY Oswego faculty member Trevor Jorgensen will present a clarinet recital featuring works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Claude Debussy, Gioachino Rossini and Aram Khachaturian at 7:30 p.m. April 21, in Sheldon Hall ballroom. The date represents a change from the original for this event in the schedule for Focus on Faculty, a series presented by the SUNY Oswego music department.

Central Services Director Celebrates 40 Years With County Government

The Oswego County Legislature’s Infrastructure, Facilities and Technology Committee congratulated Central Services Director Richard Hogan for his 40 years of service to county government. Hogan is responsible for overseeing the county computer systems, phone systems, computer servers and programs.

Patent Commissioner, Media Industry Leader Chosen For SUNY Honor

Margaret A. Focarino, now commissioner of patents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, is to receive an honorary doctor of science degree at the college’s spring commencement May 16. An honorary doctor of humane letters degree will be bestowed on Louis A. Borrelli Jr. at Oswego’s winter commencement at 10 a.m. Dec. 12 in the Marano Campus Center arena and convocation hall.
