Nearly 250 visitors stopped by the main BOCES campus in Mexico for the opportunity to visit classrooms, participate in hands-on activities and take a trip down memory lane viewing old photographs and newspaper clippings from earlier days.
The Oswego Salvation Army will welcome Steve Canale of The Press Box to its Guest Chef dinner to be held Oct. 8 from 4:30-6:30 p.m., according to Captain Corinne Hayes of the Oswego Chapter of the Salvation Army.
A Neighborhood Watch involves a group of concerned citizens who work together by looking out for one another. Members get to know their neighbors, learn how to make their homes and property more secure, and help reduce and prevent crimes in their neighborhood.
The rain that fell did not dampen the spirits of those who attended the annual Back to School Picnic at Parish Elementary School in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District, although it may have lowered the turnout for the event.
The display will feature large-scale photographs of horse drives as well as the cowboys who regularly herd the animals to distant locations. It reflects Schippers’ lifetime interest in the horse subject and her desire to capture their spirit and beauty while pursuing fresh, unique and creative perspectives.
