Rite Aid To Open New “Customer World” Store In Oswego

Rite Aid Regional Vice President Bob Silsby and Regional Pharmacy Vice President Stephen Certo will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Rite Aid store featuring the company’s “Customer World” design on Thursday, November 20, at 10 a.m. The new store, located at 250 State Route 104 in front of Oswego Speedway, opens its doors for the first time to customers at 8 a.m. that day. The store incorporates features of the company’s “Customer World” design, which was created using customer feedback.

International Fisheries Representative Visits Great Lakes

An international fisheries representative recently visited New York’s Great Lakes region to study open water trawling techniques and vessel design. As part of an October educational visit to the U.S., Tomas Juza (at right in photo), a Ph.D. student with the Institute of Hydrobiology at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, visited the Atlantic coast and NY’s Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.

OCAY League Designs Distinctive Competition

</p>First place in the second OCAY League competition and winning the gold medal was the team from Mexico High School. Think Project Runway meets Junkyard Wars and you would have a general idea of the latest Oswego County Academic Youth (OCAY) League competition. Teams from each of the nine Oswego County school districts converged on the SUNY Oswego campus for a unique competition that brought together “fashion designers with a reuse and recycle attitude.”

Wreaths for Wildlife

The holiday decorating season is here, but not everyone remembers the feathered and furred friends around their homes during the preparations.  Well, it’s not too late to get started by attending the Wreaths for Wildlife Program at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center on Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 pm.  Participants will be constructing beautiful outdoor holiday evergreen wreaths that contain nutritious treats for cardinals, woodpeckers, squirrels and other wildlife.
