On Saturday, September 27th at 8:00am in the pouring rain the American Red Cross Bridges to Caring Walk began. Even though it was raining and cold, a generous public turned out to help the Red Cross raise over $11,000 to help provide services to residents of our communities. There were employee groups from Constellation Energy, Windstream Communications, Birdseye Foods, many single walkers and family groups as well.
With our economy in trouble, and rising prices for food, gas and heat, families are worried about balancing their budgets, if their jobs are safe, and their financial future secure.
