Fulton Savings Will Close River Glen Mall Branch, The Latest To Leave

<p>The Fulton Savings Bank branch at River Glen Mall, which will close in mid-December.</p>

Yet another business is pulling out of the half-empty River Glen Mall.

Fulton Savings Bank will close its 15-year-old branch at the Route 481 shopping center on December 18.  No employees will lose their jobs, according to the bank’s CEO, Mike Pollock.  The bank’s lease expires not long after the closing.

Mosquitoes Carrying EEE Found Here Much Earlier Than Usual

<p>A mosquito.</p>

Oswego County’s discovery of a mosquito carrying an Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus makes the county and the state the first place in the country to discover the potentially deadly illness this year.  It’s also one of the earliest annual discoveries for the county on record.

Jennifer Gorea, a resident of Fulton, NY, has been named to the Spring 2009 Champlain College’s Dean”s List for academic achievements. Gorea is majoring in Social Work. Students named to the Dean’s List are full-time students with a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or more. President’s List honors are for a grade-point average of 4.0. Trustees Scholar students are students on the President’s List for two consecutive semesters.
