EEE Found In Bird-Biting Mosquitoes In West Monroe
Dr. Dennis Norfleet, Public Health Director of the Oswego County Health Department, said this morning (July 13), that the Eastern equine encephalitis virus was found in a pool of mosquitoes collected on Toad Harbor Road in West Monroe. The virus has only been found in the type of mosquitoes that bite birds, not in mosquitoes that feed on humans.

Oswego Man Not Ticketed In Accident That Killed A Woman
An Oswego man couldn’t stop in time to avoid hitting a woman lying in the middle of Route 48 in Onondaga County early this morning. Police don’t know why the Lysander woman was lying in the road. She was hit by a truck that was unable to stop, and died at the scene.
