Fulton Schools Construction Gets Back On Schedule

The Fulton City School District’s big building project is back on track after several weeks of coping with asbestos discoveries that brought pieces of the project to a dead stop.Ã‚Â But the asbestos-related slowdown that put the football team on the road may now threaten next spring’s track season.

OHS Cross Country Girls Win Season Opener

Led by the strong one-two-three finish of sophomores Mackenzie Robinson and Taylor Giglio, and senior Brittany Ross, the Oswego girls cross country team, opened the 2009 season Wednesday, with a 23-34 win over the host Lady Cougars of Corcoran.

Rotarians Meet Their Leadership Student

Recently, Rotarian Sharon Foster, right, introduced Jenna Doherty, a G. Ray Bodley High School Sophomore who was selected to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) held this year at Cazenovia College on July 10 – 12.Ã‚Â Ã‚Â The RYLA program,Ã‚Â a 3-day camp organized by District 7150 Rotarians,Ã‚Â enables young people to learn and develop leadership and communication skills while having fun and making new friends. Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton’s Riverside Inn.

Cayuga CC to Offer SAT Prep Courses in Auburn and Fulton

The Fulton campus course will be held Thursdays, September 10 through October 29, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Auburn campus course will be held Sundays, September 13 through November 1, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Both groups will finish before the 2009 SAT test dates of November 7 and December 5.

Board of Elections Announces Two New Polling Places

Voters in several election districts will select their choices of candidates on Tuesday, Sept. 15, as several primary elections take place across Oswego County. Most of the polling places are unchanged, but voters in two districts will visit new polling places this year.

Oswego County HHW Facility Closes for Season Sept. 30

Oswego County residents have until Sept. 30 to drop household hazardous waste items off at the county collection facility at the Bristol Hill transfer station. The facility is open Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 11 a.m., through Sept. 30.

Youth Bureau Announces Opportunities for Organizations to Receive NYS Funds

Not for profit organizations have until Oct. 30 to apply for grant funds through the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
