Students Reach New Heights at Lanigan Lift-off

Sixth grade Lanigan and Granby Elementary students made special signs and banners that read “proud to be referral free” to display at the recent Lanigan Lift-off Assembly held at the school. A total of 310 students were recognized throughout the assembly for having stayed referral free since the beginning of the school year. Students in Lanigan Elementary School had a real ‘blast’ at the recent Lanigan Lift-Off program held at the school. This new program focuses on reinforcing the Fulton City School District’s Positive Behaviors and Interventions Services (PBIS) initiative, promoting a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) attitude and uniting the entire Lanigan student and staff family.

BOCES Practical Nursing Class Performs Pediatric Assessment Lab

<p>OCB Practical Nursing student Renee Lewis preps her son Josh’s finger for a glucose screening as part of the Pediatric Assessments Lab in the Oswego County BOCES’ Practical Nursing program. This lab is essential to the completion of the pediatric portion of the class. </p>As Thanksgiving passes by and the holiday season continues, it often brings up thoughts of new beginnings, whether it’s in the form of starting a new calendar year or a New Years resolution. Students in the Oswego County BOCES Adult Education Practical Nursing program definitely have these concepts on their minds as they are nearing the completion of their educational program.

Local Eateries Support United Way Stone Soup Luncheon

<p>Committee members from the United Way’s Annual Holiday Luncheon meet at Tim Horton’s in Oswego to discuss details for this year’s ‘Stone Soup’ Holiday Luncheon.  The event, which serves as a fundraiser for area food pantries, will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, December 10th at St. Joseph’s Parish Center, West First Street in Oswego.  Attendees are encouraged to please bring a donation of canned food, as the United Way will be collecting donations for area food pantries.  For more information, or to make reservations to attend the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s “Stone Soup” Holiday Luncheon, contact your United Way office at 593-1900.
