The Oswego County Historical Society invites everyone to attend this yearÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Christmas Open House at the Richardson-Bates House Museum, 135 E. Third St. in Oswego. The event is scheduled for Sunday, December 6, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Catholic Charities to offer Workshop for Parents of Teens

Program Director, Kevin Slimmer and Parent Educator, Cindy Morabito review materials to be used during the upcoming Active Parenting for Teens workshop. The workshop, which is free and open to the public, is designed specifically to educate parents on how to properly prepare their teenagers so that they will develop into productive young adults. The workshop will be held Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. Ã¢â‚¬â€œ 5:30 p.m. December 9th through January 13th at the Central Square Middle School. SUNY Oswego Planetarium to Show ‘Stars of Winter’

The Charles H. Jerred Planetarium at SUNY Oswego will showcase “The Stars of Winter” during free programs for the public on three Sundays in December.

Christmas In Mexico This Weekend

On Saturday, starting at 9 AM many churches will hold Bazaars, The MACS Music Boosters will hold a “Christmas Treasure” sale, many of the shops up and down Main Street will offer sales, coupons and refreshments to patrons. Black Magic Stables will be on hand all day to provide horse drawn sleigh rides to and from the various activities for free !

Legislature Honors Bishop On Her Retirement

The Oswego County LegislatureÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Health and Human Services Committee recognizes Laurie Bishop for her 29 years of service. Bishop recently retired from her position as a caseworker with the Oswego County Department of Social Services.

Barclay Sponsors Legislation that Provides State Tax Credit for New Home Owners

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,IÃ¢â‚¬â€Pulaski) said today he is pleased to join lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to sponsor legislation that, if passed, will give home buyers who purchase a newly constructed home a $7,000 state income tax credit for up to three years.
