Oswego County Tourism Office Provides Free Publicity for Winter Events
The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning is compiling a list of events and activities to include in its “Winter in Oswego County†brochure.
The brochure will list tourism events in Oswego County that take place between Nov. 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011.
Youth Bureau Will Award Mini Grants for Youth Projects
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau has limited funding available for a final round of the 2010 mini-grant program. Funding will be awarded to not-for-profit community organizations that provide non-sectarian activities for youth during hours when school is not in session. Mini-grant funds are also available for projects that address the needs of at-risk youth and/or address risk issues youth experience.
AmeriCorps Members Needed for Positions that Start in September
The Oswego AmeriCorps Program has been awarded funding for the 2010-2011 program year and is now accepting applications for positions that will start September 1. AmeriCorps is a national service program that addresses needs in local communities.

Next Small Business Training Class to Begin in September
For those interested in expanding or starting a small business in Oswego County, the next Micro-Enterprise Program small business training class is scheduled to begin Saturday, Sept. 18 and run each Saturday until Oct. 16. The classes will be held at the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center, Oswego County Industrial Park (off of exit 14 on 481), Phoenix, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
