Margaret Ellen Van Horn, 67, a resident of 134 E. Third St., Oswego, passed away on Saturday Feb. 26, 2011, at Oswego Hospital.
Junior Kristen Kush recorded a double-double and scored her 1,000 career point to lead William Smith basketball team to a 76-64 victory over Union in a Liberty League tournament semifinal game at St. Lawrence’s Burkman Gymnasium tonight.
The H. Lee White Marine Museum will be hosting the unveiling of the “Civil War Hero” exhibit, relating to Captain James Lee and U.S. Sloop of War, Kearsarge on March 8 at 6:30 p.m.
On March 9 the Emergency Services Program of Catholic Charities of Oswego County, in cooperation with the Food Bank of Central New York, will sponsor a fresh food distribution.
At its Jan. 24 meeting, the Oswego Common Council approved revisions to the Downtown Design Guidelines and also authorized Mayor Randy Bateman to appoint a five-member committee to serve as the Historical Review Committee.
UPDATE: In the morning hours of Feb. 26, Fulton Police were dispatched to the area of 404 Erie St. in the city of Fulton for a report of a harassment in progress involving a gun. Michael R. Watkins, 26, of 63 N. Third St., Fulton, was arrested today (Feb. 26), following an investigation by the City of Fulton Police Department.
