Richardson-Bates House Tours Still Available

The Oswego County Historical Society reminds everyone that the Richardson-Bates House Museum is still open for tours every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. from now until the end of December. Tours are also available at other times through appointments, which may be made by calling the museum at 343-1342 or through the e-mail address ochs@rbhousemuseum.org. Shown discussing information shared during tours are Historical Society Board of Trustees members, from left, Barbara Hanley, Peg McKinstry, and Lyn Patterson. APW Continues Tradition of Honoring and Promoting Student Leadership

Captains for the fall sports seasons were invited to a leadership brunch at the APW District Office where the role of team leader and the responsibilities associated with that role both on and off the sports fields were examined. Area Masons Celebrated Square and Compass Day on October 15

The Oswego County Legislature recently presented a proclamation designating Saturday, October 15, 2011 as Square and Compass Day to area Masons. Ten Lodges throughout Oswego County hosted open houses to conduct tours and answer questions about Freemasonry. At hand for the presentation and pictured from left is Oswego County District Deputy Grand Master John Krauss, member of Lake City Lodge 127; Oswego County Legislator Fred Beardsley, District 9 and member of Central Square Lodge 622; and Grand Director of Ceremonies Ronald James, member of Hannibal Lodge 550. The Oswego County Legislature recently designated Saturday, October 15, 2011 as Square and Compass Day to promote education about Masonry and the dedicated service its members provide to county residents.
