Fulton Man Sentenced 2-8 Years On Attempted Conspiracy Charge

In county court this morning (Feb. 27), Quentin J. Hicks accepted a plea deal in his case. Earlier this month, he was offered a sentence of 2 to 8 years in state prison if he accepted a deal to plead guilty to second-degree attempted conspiracy. He admitted in court that he tried to hire a hit man to kill his wife, going as far as providing a sketch of the home.

Marine Museum’s Movie Night At Beacon Hotel Is A ‘Titanic’ Success

The Beacon Hotel in Oswego hosted the H. Lee White Marine Museum’s movie screening of the 1953 classic “Titanic.” The event opened with a brief presentation by George DeMass (pictured), chaplain to the Titanic Historical Society. DeMass had the honor of meeting Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the disaster who would have celebrated her 100th birthday Feb. 2.“The Titanic Event Committee would like to thank the owners of the Beacon Hotel, Felacia and Atom Avery, for hosting this community event,” said Mercedes Niess, executive director of the museum. “They have done a marvelous job restoring and renovating this early 1900s historic structure and it was the perfect setting for our step back in time.”

George Washington Celebration and 65 Year Service Awards at Lake City 127 Masons

Deputy Grand Master James A. Sullivan and Donald MossMore than 65 masons and their ladies attended a dinner and program celebrating the life of Mason and first President George Washington. The senior Past Master of the lodge was honored with a certificate signed by the Grand Master of New York Grand Lodge Vincent Libone and a 65-year pin. Also honored for 65 years was Edwin Trudeau.
