“Teacher Leader Academy and Project Based Learning for the 21st Century” was an event to showcase the presentations of several teachers who benefited from a grant given to Oswego County BOCES. One person described it as an opportunity for all the educators to “learn from each other.”
The Oswego State baseball team earned its first win of the season and started off their Spring Break trip in Florida with a doubleheader split against Dickinson (Pa.).
The Oswego City School District Board of Education committee and regular meetings are scheduled for March 13 at the Education Center board room. The call to order for the regular meeting will be 5 p.m. The board will move to executive session to discuss personnel matters. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the board will return to the board room.
Comprised entirely of concerned community members, the committee is responsible for evaluating various agency programs that are available and recommending to the United Way Board of Directors the funding support that these programs should receive.

Arthur J. Hillis, 86, a former resident of Davenport N.Y. passed away peacefully on Sunday March 11, 2012, at Oswego Hospital.
William A. Hoefer, 79, a resident of West Fifth St. Oswego, passed away Saturday March 10, 2012, at Oswego Hospital.
The third-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team punched its third straight ticket to the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championships behind the strength of four third-period goals in a 5-0 quarterfinal win over 11th-ranked Elmira Saturday at the Campus Center Arena.
“Proceed and Be Bold” will show at 7 p.m. at Oswego Cinema, 138 W. Second St., followed by questions and answers with Zinger, who profiles self-described “humble Negro printer” Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. in this unconventional story of a man and his letterpress.
