Ritchie Bill Would Boost Biker Safety
State Senator Patty Ritchie has introduced a bill that would improve motorcycle safety by including awareness training in the DMV’s mandatory, pre-licensing courses. The bill was prompted by a recent uptick in motorcycle related accidents in our region, including four fatal motorcycle accidents already in Oswego this year, more than any full year since 2008.
SUNY Oswego Metro Center to offer test for health education certification
Registration has opened for the next Certified Health Education Specialist test, which will take place Oct. 20, at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center in the Atrium, 2 Clinton Square in Syracuse.

Through the generosity of people throughout the area they are in the process of building a brand new house to better serve the families who have a child in one of the local hospitals.

Safety Net Committee Addressing Human Services Needs
To ensure that those needs are met, the Safety Net Committee, comprised of representatives from Oswego County’s human services agencies, is keeping a close eye on the basic human services (food, clothing, and shelter) that are available and their ability to serve those in need.
