Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, owned and operated by Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, is fortunate to operate in the greater Oswego community and is proud to give back to our community in a variety of ways, including scholarships to the children of employees.

People in Central New York will have an opportunity to learn about New York’s female leaders through a moving “Women of Distinction” display, featured at local libraries. The New York State Senate’s Women of Distinction program honors women, both past and present, who have made a difference.

The SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. July 18, for those interested in taking advantage of any of the college’s extended-learning opportunities.

Aubree Schrader, a member of the Oswego High School Class of 2012, was the first recipient of the Dr. William A. Mahon Memorial Scholarship.

The College at Brockport, State University of New York, recently honored students who excelled academically by naming them to the Dean’s List for the spring 2012 semester.

The following local students were named to the President’s List for earning grade point averages of 3.8 and higher.
