Five Central New York paddlers traveled water routes from Ithaca to Oswego, arriving on Sunday, to demonstrate the potential for developing a water trail that links the Finger Lakes with Lake Ontario. Dick Drosse of the Oswego County Environmental Management Council paddled with the group from Indian Point to Fulton and Minetto.

As a long time supporter of women’s rights and women’s history, I had no problem with the historical portion of the display which included posters of prominent New York women in history, and some books of information about these women on the table. What I did object to was the blatant use by Senator Ritchie of her office to promote herself.
Bishop’s Commons, a residence for senior citizens in Oswego, is an excellent facility and is the only organization of its kind in Oswego County. This writer believes the general public in CNY does not understand this beneficial program being offered right here in our beautiful community. “Spreading the Word” about this fine residence is important.

SUNY Oswego has awarded merit scholarships to more than 600 incoming students, including $2,000 Merit Awards to several local residents.
