The Erik Cole Dream Big Foundation faces off locally for its 5th annual Hockey Classic at the SUNY Oswego Campus Center Arena. The event is a 3-on-3 Cross-Ice Hockey Tournament held August 10-14 that consists of 48 total games, which are played cross-ice, 3-on-3.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. July 28 officers responded to the area of West Bridge Street between West Seventh Street and West eight Street for a reported fight. Upon arrival officers discovered that two victims had been assaulted by a large group of males.
One of the victims is currently being treated for serious head trauma.
