Head Shop’s Store Clerks Could Face Arrest, Very Long Prison Sentences

United States Attorney for the Western District of New York, William Hochul, told reporters at a news conference that three store clerks arrested in Western New York have been charged with selling a controlled drug or its analog that leads to bodily harm.

Hochul said that the crime carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

There were very few arrests as police carried out this week’s raids, but officials said many arrests are coming, soon.

Right from the opening notes Thursday night, the music had many in the crowd up and dancing.Harborfest #25 opened with a few clouds overhead, a couple of pesky showers and hundreds of people young and old ready to make this the best Harborfest ever. The music started at 7 p.m. with Changes in Latitudes (a Jimmy Buffett tribute band), followed by Mike Delguidice and Big Shot (a Billy Joel tribute band) that had everyone in a New York state of mind.

National Grid is urging customers in its upstate New York service areas to stay safe during the unstable weather forecasted across the area later today. The company is prepared to respond to any storms that may occur. The company is readying extra crews and is prepared to activate its storm operations centers across the region in case the storms cause significant outages.
