Thanks to a new method of handling reports of child maltreatment and neglect, families are taking a more active role in solving problems in the home environment, and caseworkers at the Oswego County Department of Social Services have more options to help strengthen families.

But Fulton resident Don Ross noted that utilities should not be taxes. “It’s patently wrong for anybody to tax a waste treatment plant and we shouldn’t be stuck with it.”
The city’s fire chief requested permission to transfer money to cover the cost in short-term. Representatives from the city and the department will get together soon to find a way to alleviate the problem in the future.
Goldie Esther (Stewart) Gault Johnson, 91, of Fulton, passed away Monday August 6, 2012, at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.
Fire destroyed a home at 574 Peat Bed Rd. in Hannibal on Monday. Four people living in the home got out safely. Officials said the fire appeared to start in the back of the home. It spread rapidly.
