The Oswego State men’s tennis team (1-3) was competitive at every flight, but were unable to capture any individual wins in a 9-0 loss to Elmira (2-0) on Tuesday afternoon. All three Lakers doubles teams were defeated, 8-2, to give the Soaring Eagles a 3-0 edge in the match heading into singles play.
In its final meet before competing in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships, the Oswego State men’s golf team placed fourth out of 12 teams at the Elmira Fall Invitational with a team score of 340 on Tuesday.
Plans are under way for the first ‘A Handmade Christmas’ holiday craft show to be hosted by the North Country Crafters. This show, which is being planned as an annual event, will feature arts and crafts all uniquely handmade by group members who are based in New York’s North Country area.
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Dollars for Scholars organization will be hosting a Fall Festival and chicken barbecue fundraiser on Oct. 13 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Altmar Hotel, 6 Mill St., Altmar.
The school board reviewed a draft document Tuesday night. It outlined what the responsibilities are for everyone in the district regarding incidents or threats of sexual violence or other serious incidents. It also dealt with the rights and responsibilities of the victim and alleged aggressors.
One of the programs to help raise funds is the Bike Ride for Missing and Exploited Children that takes place in Fulton on Sept. 28 with more than 140 riders.
In response to the increasing demand for food subsidy in the area, Helen Hoefer, supervisor of Community Services for Catholic Charities of Oswego County, has announced that the agency’s food pantry will now be open six days a week.
Bring the kids to the 13th annual Salmon River Festival this Columbus Day weekend. Enjoy family fun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the South Park on Route 11 in Pulaski.
