Oswego County Opportunities’ Literacy Volunteers program is offering a tutor orientation for its 2013 spring session on April 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. The tutor orientation will be held at OCO’s Midtown Plaza Offices, 75 E. First St.
The next round of auditions will be held Feb. 16 from 2 to 3 p.m. at CNY Arts Center’s new facility in State Street Methodist Church, 357 State St.
On February 20 at 7 p.m., local author Art Tirrell will present a reading from his latest book, The Wind from Entouhonoron, an adventure set on Lake Ontario during the War of 1812.
For the first time in recent memory, the Oswego Players needed to cancel last Friday’s performance and 75th season opening reception due to inclement weather forecasts. Bobby Fontana is readying for auditions for the second selection of the 75th season. He has chosen Gore Vidal’s political composition, “The Best Man.”

Helen Mae Stuber, 83, of Fulton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday February 10, 2013.
Sue Bertsch, a Constellation Community Council member, presented $2,000 to Oswego High School technology teacher Matthew Bock. The money will be used to purchase parts and tools for the completion of an all-electric vehicle that the students hope to be able to enter in competition.
The Family Education and Partnership program invites families who have a child with a mental health diagnosis to enjoy an afternoon of free bowling on February 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lakeview Lanes, Route 3 in Fulton.
