Hayden Ward (Sr., Montauk, N.Y.) turned in 18 points and 12 rebounds to power the Oswego State men’s basketball team (16-5, 9-5 SUNYAC) past New Paltz (8-13, 6-8), 74-57, at Max Ziel Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team (14-7, 8-6 SUNYAC) trailed by two with under five minutes remaining, but New Paltz (19-2, 13-1 SUNYAC) scored the next seven points in a two-minute span to hand the Lakers a 75-66 loss Tuesday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
Pedro Lugo stopped along Route 3 to do a good deed. A car was disabled along the side of the road and Lugo stopped to help. He completed one task, then decided to circle his car around to take care of the rest.
Seconds later, his SUV was smashed broadside by a tractor-trailer.
