The Fulton Service Clubs (Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary Sunrise) and the Fulton Veterans Council have completed the planning for the 32nd Annual Memorial Day Salute to be held on May 24 and 25. The parade committee has been working for several months putting together the area’s largest parade. The parade date is May 25 and it will start at 10 a.m.
With Arts Fest just a few weeks away on June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., CNY Arts Center announces the festival entertainment line-up with local musician Tom Eagan and, new group on the music scene – Lois Dixon and the Olives.
In the upcoming weeks, the Oswego Police Department will be participating in the state-
wide campaign to aggressively enforce the Seatbelt laws in an effort to gain compliance. The effort, which will run until June 2, will be particularly focused locally around and
throughout the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
Heather Coppola, a resident of Oswego was named a member of the university’s chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society in spring 2013. She is a Social Work major at Alvernia.
Employees of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield volunteered their time to help the Nutrition Collaboration of Oswego County, build additional garden beds for the Fulton Community Garden Project. Located at John Lincoln Park, the Fulton Community Garden Project offers city residents the opportunity to have their own garden bed to grow vegetables, herbs, or flowers.
The APW Educational Foundation will hold its third annual golf tournament on June 2, at the Northshore Golf Course, 8062 Maple Flats Road, Cleveland, with a 1 p.m. tee off. This event will be a “Captain and Crew” format with 18 holes of golf, including cart and dinner.
Prizes will be awarded and there will be various raffles.
Fairgrieve Elementary School Principal Jean Ciesla recognized students honored for the character expectation of Being Safe.
Area youngsters of all ages can take part in free bicycle obstacle courses and get properly fitted for a bike helmet during the Fulton Police Department’s bicycle rodeo to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 1 in the parking lot of the Fulton Community Center. This free event will also offer drawings for a free bike, air hop rides, bike registrations, food and more.
