A city resident filed a claim against the city for damages resulting from flooding of her finished basement. An investigation determined that the flooding was caused by negligence on the part of the city. The city will pay $16,463.84 in full settlement of the claim.
The 2013 legislative session has ended. In this week’s column, I want to share my thoughts on some positive steps the Legislature took to enact change and also highlight a few matters that will, unfortunately, remain status quo for now.
In what has become a ‘King of Wings’ tradition, the Old Timer’s Reunion yearly brings back friends, fans, and drivers of Oswego Speedway’s past to the Speedway for a morning of great times and memories. A number of restored racecars, racing magazines and newspapers, photos, door prizes, and raffles will be available at the reunion.
Residents of St. Luke Health Services in Oswego made the trip to this year’s Oswego County Fair in Sandy Creek. They returned with a number of “blue ribbons” and other awards for entries they submitted in “juried” categories ranging from baked goods, to handmade quilts, floral arrangements and other decorative items.
On Monday at approximately 11:29 a.m., Fulton Police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Dollar General located at 126 Cayuga St. in Fulton. Upon arrival, it was determined that two subjects had been involved in allegedly stealing several cans of air conditioning recharge canisters. One of the suspects allegedly threatened an employee with a knife and then a shovel.
Paul D. “Bud” Murray, 69, a resident of County Route 89, Oswego, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2013, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
The “PathFinder Bank Volunteer Program” is in full swing for Harborfest 2013. Volunteer training dates are coming up at the McCrobie Building at 41 Lake Street in Oswego.
The first training date is July 16 at 5:30 p.m. and the second is July 18 at 7 p.m.
The Davey Resource Group, a division of the Davey Tree Expert Company will be conducting a tree inventory, tree risk assessment and pest detection of all publicly owned trees in the city of Fulton neighborhoods during the month of July. This work is partly funded through an Urban Forestry Grant from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
My name is Bradley Warner and I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the position of First Ward Councilor in the city of Fulton. After living in Fulton for the past 12 years I have decided to get more involved and become an active member of not only my First Ward neighborhood but also in my city’s government.
The program begins at 9 a.m. on July 25 at the Nick Sterio Public Health Center, 70 Bunner St., Oswego. Eric Hausman of National Government Services and a representative from NY Statewide Senior Action Council will present information.
