“The whole bus ride from Rochester was a trip down memory lane since this is where I played tournaments with my travel team and participated in camps with my uncle,” said Ashlynn Palmitesso as she reminisced about a familiar court. “This helped settle my nerves and relax me because this was home to me.” Palmitesso and Christina Pensabene tipped off their college basketball season last weekend for the Tigers of Rochester Institute of Technology.
Pulaski High School Senior baseball standout Tom Taplin has signed his letter of intent to play Division 1 Baseball with the University at Buffalo Bulls. At a special signing ceremony in the high school library, Taplin was joined by his father and baseball coach, Wayne Taplin Jr., mother Susan, sister Amanda and grandfather, Wayne Sr., as well as classmates, friends, teammates, teachers and community members.

Those planning on parking along West Mohawk Street in the future may soon have to keep one eye on the clock. At its meeting Monday night, the Administrative Services Committee moved ahead with plans to implement a two-hour parking restriction on a huge chunk of the street.

Students at Fairgrieve Elementary raised $178 for the Wounded Warrior Project as part of a school fundraiser. The project’s purpose is to honor and empower injured service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound on or after September 11.

.A member of the construction crew on site was in the process of installing metal roofing on the new building, about 24 feet off the ground, when a gust of wind blew him and a piece of the roofing off of the roof structure at the F.X. Caprara construction site Monday afternoon.
