Oswego Library Lists Holiday Hours
The Oswego Public Library will close early on Christmas Eve. The hours for Tuesday, December 24, will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library will reopen on December 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

New Trail Offers Safe, Direct Route to Camp Hollis Challenge Course
One of the biggest attractions for visitors to Camp Hollis and groups that rent the camp is the low-element challenge course. When Camp Hollis opened up for the 2013 season there was a new trail to make getting to the challenge course much safer and much more convenient.

St. Mary’s Church Supports Children’s Fund
Parishioners of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego donated dozens of new toys to Oswego County Children’s Fund. Established last year through collaboration with Catholic Charities of Oswego County, the Department of Social Services, and United Way, the Oswego County Children’s Fund will be distribute the toys to less fortunate children in throughout Oswego County.

Council Hacks Oswego Tax Hike Nearly in Half
During a special meeting Wednesday night, councilors cut the proposed tax hike for 2014 to around 40 percent. However, those changes to the tentative spending plan mean several cuts in the city workforce.
Port of Oswego Appoints New Executive Director
The Port of Oswego Authority has announced the appointment of Zelko N. Kirincich to the position of Executive Director. He will begin his new position on January 6, 2014. Mr. Kirincich comes from the Port Authority of Tampa, Florida, where he worked from 1996-2013. He most recently served there as Deputy Port Director and Chief Operating Officer.
