Nancy Weber, the first woman president of the Farm Bureau, was the guest speaker for the Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women during the September 17 meeting. As a long-time dairy farmer in Mexico and representative on the CNY Regional Economic Development Committee, Weber spoke to the group about women in agriculture.

Alexis Alfano of Oswego was recently selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Teen Syracuse/Binghamton pageant competition that will take place on October 12. Alexis learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviewing in the local Syracuse/Binghamton area
Walter F. Howard Jr., 63, of the town of Volney, entered into his Savior’s arms on Saturday, September 21, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Kevin Hines attempted to take his own life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. “As soon as I jumped, I prayed to God that I’d survive,” Hines said. He survived and now travels the country helping raise awareness for many mental health and suicide awareness gatherings. Oswego, he said, was “fantastic” to host this weekend’s event.
