The Oswego City School District Board of Education will return to the school year schedule of committee and regular meetings on September 10. The board will meet at the OHS Anthony J. Murabito Media Center. At 6 p.m. Michael McLaughlin will take his oath of office to officially become a board member.
Doris B. Matzke, 92, of Fulton, died Tuesday August 27, 2013, at Oswego Hospital, Oswego, after a short illness.

Aerial spraying is being conducted as a preventative measure to reduce the chances of a person contracting the Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus, which is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito. Due to the size of the area, spraying cannot be completed in one evening. Aerial spraying will start after 6 p.m.
On September 13 the Sandy Creek Stadium Press Box will be dedicated to Sue Bitz before the start of the first home game at 5:30 p.m. Sue lost her battle with cancer on July 27, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the students she inspired.
The open house was held before the start of school to allow students and their parents/guardians an opportunity to meet the teachers and staff members and familiarize themselves with the building before the start of school.
Dorothy H. Hall, 95, of Fulton, died Thursday September 5, 2013, at Oswego Hospital.
Two Oswego City School professional staff members were recognized on the staff opening day, Tuesday, for their perfect attendance during the last school year.
