Jim Shampine Drive Re-Dedicated to local racing legend

With them are Mike D'Amico and the artist Matthew Hubbard.Dozens of friends and family turn out to honor the Oswego Speedway legend. Two brand new signs, each with two different pictures of Jim Shampine’s famous race car, were unveiled at both ends of the road named in his honor. Pathfinder Bank, Romey Caruso (whose family formerly owned the Oswego Speedway for decades), the current speedway owners, the city and others all pitched in to help replace the signs, according to Mike D’Amico who spearheaded the project.

Students Take Part in Hands-On Activities at Oswego Hospital Mash Camp

Local youths taking part in Oswego Hospital’s MASH Camp learned how to suture like a surgeon and also tried their hand at compounding medicines using candy. These skills were just a few of the many the campers, who will enter either the eighth or ninth grades this fall, experienced during the two-day camp designed to introduce healthcare careers to the youths.
