Students in Robyn Yorker’s class at the Stepping Stones Day Program at Oswego County BOCES just capped off an instructional unit on insects. The unit included a variety of ELA and science-based lessons involving information about insects: how they eat, how they breathe, and how the see.

Legislator Kevin Gardner, District 13, was elected Oswego County Legislature Chairman during the group’s May 9 meeting. County legislators also voted for Terry Wilbur, District 21, as their vice chairman and appointed James Weatherup as legislator for District 9.

The town of New Haven is pleased to once again host the New Haven Farmers’ Market on Monday evenings. They are currently looking to add more vendors to the market. The first market of the year will be June 3.

The ceremony will recognize two cohorts of students: August and December 2012 and May and August 2013 candidates. The following local residents are among more than 1,400 students to partcipate in the May 2013 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony:

Ladies, Wings of Grace Ministry is pleased to announce that Kathy Sheley will be speaking about her journey of faith and healing in her message “Lost and Found.” Kathy started a support group called “Left Behind by Suicide” after the tragic loss of her husband by suicide.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today (May 13) joined with local leaders to dedicate the U.S. Post Office in Baldwinsville after fallen Marine Corporal Kyle Schneider.
