Now through November 25, churches in Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, and Oswego counties will be collecting Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts packed with school supplies, hygiene items and small toys to go to boys and girls ages 2-14 in countries struggling with conflict, poverty, and disaster around the world.

Locally, a group of health and human service providers are launching a new cessation program for pregnant and parenting women as part of the Great American Smokeout.
Upwards of 200 guests enjoyed a feast of locally raised foods at the Oswego County Harvest Dinner on October 18. The dinner was held at The American Foundry in Oswego and the 2013 event proved to be as successful in showcasing Oswego County agriculture as it has been in the three preceding years.
