The Oswego County Department of Social Services will sponsor an informational meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5, at the Department of Social Services, 100 Spring St., Mexico, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.
Awards were given in three categories: years of service to ASA/USA Softball, registration increases and excellence in conducting ASA/USA National Championships in 2013. Among the recipients was Robert Farrell, New York ASA State Commissioner, recognized for his 25 years of service.

The statue that had sat at its highest peak since the building’s creation in 1905, seemed destined to be demolished along with the rest of St. Mary’s School. One woman, however, was determined not to let that happen and rounded up a posse of volunteers.
The Oswego State Lakers thumped the Ithaca College Bombers 99-73 in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego improves to 2-1 on the year with the win while Ithaca drops to 1-2.
Jade Elisabeth Hall passed away on Sunday November 17, 2013. She was born at 1:18 p.m. and died a short time later.
