The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, losing in an ECAC West contest to SUNY Potsdam 3-2. Oswego outshot Potsdam 43-16 in the game
The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team used a three-goal second period to gain control of the contest and defeat Cortland 4-1 in a SUNYAC matchup on Saturday night. With the victory, the No. 8/12 Lakers move to 2-1 in both overall and conference standings.
Jack E. Sheridan, 95, a resident of Drumlin Heights in Radisson and a former resident of Oswego and St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on Saturday morning November 8, 2013, at his home.
On Friday, Michelle C. Capozzi, 43 of North Fifth Street in Fulton, was arrested following an investigation into a domestic dispute that occurred on November 2 between Capozzi and her boyfriend. Capozzi was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both class D felonies.

Lura Sharp Elementary School held a very special Veterans’ Day ceremony to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces for their service and mark the holiday. The students invited members of their family or neighbors who have or are currently serving in the Armed Forces to the patriotic event coordinated by Kelly Shumway, a teacher at the school.
Marta Jean Nolen, 31, of Hannibal, and Matthew Alan Merrill, 28, of Fulton, were arrested this week following a joint investigation by the Oswego County Drug Task Force, the Fulton City Police Department, and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department. A search warrant was conducted on March 20, 2013, and resulted in the recovery of a large amount of heroin.
Two SUNY Oswego master’s candidates in graphic arts will open an MA Thesis Exhibition titled “Instill” on Nov. 22, in Tyler Art Gallery on campus. Bachelor of fine arts candidates will open a companion display, and participate in the free public artists’ reception that day from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery. Bachelor of arts degree recipients also will hold an exhibition in a gallery in Room 201 and elsewhere around Tyler Hall.
