Fulton Family YMCA’s Halloween Event very successful

The Fulton Family YMCA hosted a great Halloween event which was enjoyed by many families in the community. The event has taken place for the past 8 years and grows in attendance each year. YMCA members and community participants were treated to hay rides, crafts, face painting, haunted displays, swamp monsters in the pool, DJ entertaining with music and mummy wraps, cookie decorating and refreshments and treats.

Hit Mini-Series ‘The Run’ is up for 4 Sportsman Choice Awards

The new mini-series titled “The Run,” which aired for the first time this summer on the Sportsman Channel, is now up for four Sportsman Choice Awards. The 2013 Sportsman Choice Awards are voted by the viewers and run through Dec. 1. The four awards up for nomination include best fishing show, best educational/instructional show, best host (local cast), and best new series.

Oswego boys’ V’ball squad wins Section III Class AA crown

Section III Class AA champsExpectations were for a rugged five game set, but the Oswego High School boys varsity volleyball team played an all-around solid game on Wednesday night at Cicero-North Syracuse to capture the Section III Class AA crown. Oswego will square off with Section II champion Bethlehem at Burnt Hills High School  in the Albany area at 7 p.m. on Friday.

OHS Students Experience Construction Career Days

Guidance Counselor Barb Carroll said, “A group of OHS counselors recently took a several students to the Construction Career Day at the New York State Fairgrounds. Youth is vital to the construction industry. Today’s high school students represent the pool of workers from which the construction industry will recruit its future workforce.”
