Each fall, the Fulton Veteran’s Council chooses a Veteran of the Year from among the membership of several Fulton veterans’ organizations. This year, Jim Weinhold, middle, was named Veteran of the Year. Weinhold will be the Grand Marshal for the Memorial Day Salute Parade on May 24.
Oswego Speedway officially announced this week that the Patfinder Bank Small Block Super Series will contend on a softer and wider Hoosier Racing Tire in 2014, similar to what the cars competed with before the 2009 racing season. The Small Block Super division will return to using a 10” wide Hoosier Racing Tire, utilizing a 1057 compound for right side tires and a 1040 compound for left side tires.

The Oswego High School Softball Club will host a chicken barbeque on March 30 from 11 a.m. until sold out at Gibby’s Pub, West Second and Lake streets. The menu includes chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, a roll, and dessert.
This event is all day long, from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Dine in or take-out orders both go toward the fund. The fundraiser will be held at the Clay location on Route 31.

That’s just what eight-time Guinness Fitness World Record holder Bob Natoli is doing at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the 90,000 square foot Pacific Health Club just four minutes North of Destiny USA. He and some family members hope to break six Guinness Fitness Records in an hour in support of the Patterson family. The Pattersons were involved in a serious car wreck caused by an alleged drugged driver.
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Family and Consumer Science Teacher Sybil Ruffles invited a representative from the New York State Police to talk to students in the school’s seventh grade about Internet safety.
