Winter Wanes; Potholes Plague

Potholes along Route 57 marked with a snow shovel, safety cones and a warning sign. The worst of winter waned with the recent thaw but as streets clear of built up ice and snow they reveal a pox of potholes plaguing the city: damage wrought by winter’s icy grip. “If you fill a hole, it’ll probably be good for a day if you’re lucky,” Mayor Ron Woodward said. “Then you’ve got to fill it again. New potholes keep surfacing and they’re going to keep showing up until the frost line goes away.”

Oswego State men’s ice hockey team headed to Frozen Four

The No. 7/8 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team dominated Babson College 3-0 in the NCAA Division III Championship quarterfinals to advance to its fifth-straight Frozen Four. With the win, the Lakers will face University of Wisconsin-Steven Point at 7:30 p.m. on March 21 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewsiton, Me.

Student illustrators to show their work at Oswego State Downtown

Students in a SUNY Oswego illustration class will display their artwork beginning March 29, at Oswego State Downtown. An opening reception will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. that day at the downtown branch of the College Store at West First and Bridge streets in Oswego. The exhibition will run through April 19.
