Dr. Sherri Mason, professor of chemistry and environmental sciences program coordinator for State University of New York at Fredonia, will be on the Oswego campus March 31 to present her research on contamination of the Great Lakes.

This year’s Oswego honorees for outstanding achievements inside and outside the classroom are Larissa Assam, a biology major; Kyle Brayton, a five-year accounting-MBA major; Lindsay King, a dual major in global and international studies and in communication and social interaction; Nicole Leader, a childhood education major with a concentration in earth science; and Rhiannon Peshniak, a dual major in history and anthropology.

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is pleased to host the second history lecture of the 2014 Series on April 12 at 1:30 p.m. The topic will be “Battle Island, July 3, 1756: Ambush on the Oswego River.” presented by historian Steve Wapen. The program will be held at the museum and is open to the public.

“Random Acts of Kindness” have been recognized recently at the Oswego Middle School. Principal Mary Beth Fierro and Assistant Principal Robyn Proud have been extremely supportive of  promoting positive actions of their students.

Third generation silhouette artist Erik Johnson is coming to Cicero on April 14 and Oswego on April 15. Johnson will be appearing at Wear It Again Kids Consignment in Cicero and Mother Earth Baby in Oswego to create this unique and rare art form.

Fulton City School District’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten recently held an Ooey Gooey Science Night at the Education Center. Students and their families had fun with hands on activities and were entertained by the Bubble Man.
