SUNY Oswego to revive monster musical comedy ‘Young Frankenstein’

Dr. Frankenstein's monster - a kinder, gentler fiend played by SUNY Oswego junior Jared Gould, who accepts young Ella Culligan's flowery gift -- stars in the theatre and music departments' presentation of the comedic spoof "Young Frankenstein," previewing on at 7:30 p.m. April 24, and running at 7:30 p.m. April 25 and 26 and May 3 before closing with a 2 p.m. matinee May 4. All performances will place in Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre.A comic spoof on the legend of Frankenstein comes to life this month as SUNY Oswego’s theatre and music departments present an adaptation based on the 1974 hit film and 2007 Broadway play “Young Frankenstein” in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre. The play will preview at 7:30 p.m. April 24, and run 7:30 p.m. April 25 and 26 and May 3, with the matinee finale at 2 p.m. May 4.

Legislators OK Funds To Deal With Jail Over-Crowding

county logoOn Thursday night, the legislature approved transferring $500,000 from the appropriated fund balance into the prisoner charges – other facilities budget line in order to meet the expense already incurred and to cover the estimated expenses during the remainder of 2014. In the first two months of the year, the expense to house inmates elsewhere amounted to $130,000. That exhausted the adopted 2014 budget amount of $100,000.

Fulton students showcase skills at talent show, raise money for charitable causes

Twenty-one acts took center stage at G.Ray Bodley High School’s annual talent show.
Similar to the format of the television show, America’s Got Talent, Bodley’s Got Talent featured a diverse blend of performances that included bands, instrument solos, dancers, duets and singers.
