Warm Weather Brings Increased Risk of Lyme Disease

Each year, more than 30,000 cases of Lyme disease are reported to the Centers for Disease Control, making it the most commonly reported tick-borne illness in the United States. Lyme disease can cause serious health problems if not diagnosed early and treated properly. In Oswego County, the Oswego County Health Department reported 76 cases of Lyme disease last year. Already this year, there have been four cases confirmed.

Wight Picks Up Opening Night Win At Fulton Speedway

Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway the 2014 season finally got under way as Mother Nature took a break. The wait was worth it as fans and competitors were treated to great racing on opening night.
In the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds there was no slowing down Larry Wight as he rode the top of the speedway to the win.

Mock Event Sends Real Message To OHS Students Just In Time For Prom Season

Members of the Oswego High School junior class sat through a gruesome presentation Friday to help stop them from making what could be a fatal mistake on prom night, graduation day and beyond. A mock drunk driving accident was staged in the school parking lot. Several teens were “injured;” one young man was partially ejected from his vehicle, his severed arm was on the ground in front of the wrecked vehicle.
